Thermage® for the Body and Face

                        Thermage® is a non-invasive, non-surgical procedure that will help tighten, smooth and reshape your skin in a single treatment.  It can be used to treat all skin types and complexions.  This device uses an unique radio frequency to heat the deep layers of the skin which both tightens the matrix of the skin and stimulates new collagen growth. The treatment is well tolerated and has been proven to be safe and effective. There is no down time and you can return to your daily activities immediately.
 
Thermage® can be used on the face, around the eyes and perhaps best of all, any where on the body where time has caused sagging, loose skin, wrinkles and cellulite. Sagging skin on the upper thighs, arms and stomach can be treated successfully with this modality. Most patients will experience an immediate result with maximum results occurring in six to nine months. The most common side effects with treatment are redness, swelling, and increased sensitivity. These usually subside in a few days. Good candidates should have mild to moderate skin laxity, thin to medium skin thickness and be between the ages of 25 to 60 years old. Patients must also have realistic expectations. Thermage® is not a replacement for surgery. 
 
Recently, Thermage® was FDA approved for the treatment of cellulite on the body. Cellulite is a skin condition that is genetic and is usually seen in woman. Cellulite is usually found on the buttocks and thighs. This problematic condition can be improved in as little as one treatment. Thermage® rated superior to laser based cellulite treatment because the radio frequency wave that transmits the heating to the involved tissues travels deeper then light-based laser devices. Patients need to drink fluids high in electrolytes prior to treatment and are asked to wear a tight fitting garment over the treatment area for 6 week to assist in the tightening and smoothing effect.  You can remove the garment for showers, baths, and swimming.
